About purchasing fabric -- we realize that this is a big investment in your aerial journey. With reopening we are not allowed to let students share fabric, and the only way to really ensure that fabric is sanitized is to wash it, which we obviously cannot do for each class. This was the decision that we had to make in order to reopen. We foresee that we will need to follow these protocols for some time, so while you are welcome to rent a fabric ($25/session), it might be more worth it long term to invest in your own fabric.

Three Ball Juggling: Next Steps $15Purchase required to enroll

Beats & Hip Hops $32Purchase required to enroll

Dive in and get dirty with two of rope’s most important fundamentals! In this pop-up we’ll build off our bell beats and get acquainted with other beat variations including scissor beats and pike-turn beats, as well as break down the often brain-melting skill of hip hops. If there’s time we’ll take a look at climbs and pathways that incorporate these skills, and maybe even combine them!

Pre-requisites:
Students should understand the concept of, and have learned bell beats in a classroom setting even if they’re not perfect. Students should have some exposure to rope either through a pop-up/workshop or class, and be intermediate+ or have permission from the instructor. Students should be very comfortable inverting cleanly in the air.

Intro to Rope (adults) $32Purchase required to enroll

Come party with fabric’s fierce cousin, Corde Lisse! In this workshop we’ll get acquainted with some of the building blocks of aerial rope including beats, hip hops, front and back balances, rope-y climbs as well as sequences that apply these fundamentals. Whether you’re interested in starting rope, or want to add some dynamic elements into your fabric practice, this workshop has something for you!

Prerequisites: Students should have an existing practice on a vertical apparatus, multiple clean inversions in the air, clean windmill hip keys in the air, and strong shoulder engagement.

Single-Pole Pathways for Rope and Fabric $64Purchase required to enroll

Rope isn’t all giant beats and death defying release moves! In this workshop we’ll focus on the structural side of things--deconstructing delicious sequences based in corde lisse pathways that work equally well on aerial fabric.

We’ll learn sneaky, and creative, transitions and follow them to their most surprising conclusion. We’ll also work on adding in touches of dynamic movement to add flair and ease to our sequencing work.

Pre-requisites: For intermediate+ students. Students should be able to repeatedly invert in the air comfortably, have excellent hip keys in the air, and have familiar with shoofly. Familiarity with front balances (rope/silks style) and basic beats are not required but extremely helpful.

Think Outside the Hoop $32Purchase required to enroll

Are you ready to color outside the circle? This workshop is for you! We’ll explore a few pathways and transitions that move in unique and exciting ways, and engage in exercises and games to get our creative juices flowing. At the base of it all, we’ll break down our understanding of lyra to create new mental pathways for how we move around this beautiful, and popular apparatus.

Pre-requisites: Students should have some previous lyra experience. Students should be able to kick over into front balance, hold their weight comfortably in their hands, and invert to the top of the hook from seated.

Inversion Intensive Lvl. 1 $32Purchase required to enroll

This workshop is for anyone and everyone who wants to dig deep, get into the nitty gritty, and troubleshoot their inversion. Whether you’re struggling to get upside down, trying to banish a microbend, or want tools to progress to straight arms, we’ll cover it all.

We’ll begin with a discussion of mechanics, then tackle some basic exercises to help you pinpoint what’s holding you back. From there we’ll attack some drills to address common inversion issues, and you’ll go home with a short conditioning plan to add into your home workouts and open studio time!

What level should I take?

Level 1 is for students looking to clean up a basic inversion on the ground and in the air. If you can’t invert in the air yet, that is totally okay!

Level 2 is for students looking to clean up their straight leg inversions in the air and students working towards straight arm inversions.

For both levels: Please come with a note taking device and a few bullet points on what you feel your biggest inversion struggles are.

We’ll focus primarily on flares, which are the basis for most technical spinning modalities and commonly seen in lyra, straps, and rope.

We’ll begin by deconstructing flares and discussing techniques to mitigate nausea when training spins, then get into flares, and end with some creative spin time, if students so choose.

Pre-Requisites: Students should be able to invert from the ground with no jumping.

Notes:

- Class will be easiest on lyra, straps, or sling, and can be provided

- You may wish to bring some candied ginger, ginger tea, or ginger chews if you get nauseous easily
