Single-Pole Pathways 2: Revenge of the Front Balance
In this suspense-filled (bad pun, get it?) sequel to Single Pole Pathways, we’ll dive into some delicious sequences that will take you all the way down the pole—way, way down—in new and surprising ways, incorporating slack, slides, rolls, and unlocked drops.
We’ll use our friend the front balance as a start and end point to connect skills, and incorporate fundamentals and fun like hip hops, tension locks, and a cute pose or two.
We’ll rely on sneaky, and creative, transitions and follow them to new tricks for our tool bag. We’ll also incorporate touches of dynamic movement to add flair and ease to our sequencing work.
Prerequisites: This is a workshops for students who are comfortable with Air Temple’s advanced curriculum, either on rope or fabric. If you’re not sure if that’s you, check with Stacey! Students should be comfortable performing hip hops in the air (either statically or from a beat), swiveling to s-wrap or catcher’s, front balance with both hand placements, and C-shaping. A functional beat is not required but extremely helpful.
