Sling Drops w/ Lauren Breunig
Drops on any apparatus add dynamic excitement to your choreography, and sling gives us many opportunities to flip, slide, and roll! In this workshop, you will refine your drop technique that will help you on sling and beyond. You will learn how to build stacking drops by putting different drop elements, and we will explore some of the drop pathways that are unique to this fabric loop.
You do not need sling experience for this workshop, but you must have experience with drops on other apparatuses. In particular, you must be familiar with the concept of striking/slowing or stopping your momentum in a forward rotating drop like a dive/salto or 360. You do not need to be able to fully stop, but you must have some experience with this technique in order to take this workshop.
Prerequisites: high intermediate aerial student, must be able to invert in the air with good form throughout class and be comfortable with pullovers. Able to safely wrap and drop a 360 and/or salto on silks, rope, or sling with no coaching. Familiar with the concept of striking (controlling your momentum in a forward rotating drop)
