Intro to Spanish Web
$50
Purchase required to enroll
Get to know this fast paced, high flying traditional apparatus!
In this workshop we’ll introduce the fundamentals of Spanish Web, including both flying and setting. We’ll introduce climbing with a setter, hand spins, ankle spins, learning to set, and build a road map for more complex shapes and sequences.
Pre-requisites and notes: Students should be comfortable repeatedly climbing silks to the top and putting on a footlock high in the air. Students must have strong supported one arm engagement (ie: flag on a lyra or fabric).
This is a spinning workshop. Please take whatever measures you need to curtail potential nausea—spinning on an empty stomach is not recommended. We will have ginger available. Spanish Web is an uncomfortable apparatus. It is highly recommended that students may wish to bring thick socks, or leg warmers to protect their legs and ankles from bruising and rope burn as they become accustomed to the apparatus. Students may wish to bring wrist protection.
