Aerial Pole: Spins, Shapes, & Flow
Step off the ground and into the world of aerial pole! In this workshop, you’ll discover how to generate controlled spins using a variety of contact points—hands, feet, knees, forearms, shins, oh my! We’ll explore creative ways to enter and exit rotations, play with both fast and slow spins, and transition into beginner-friendly aerial pole shapes that can be combined into flowy sequences.
Pre-requisites: Students must have a two arm hold for 30 seconds on a vertical apparatus. Inverting will offer more options for transitions but all moves will have a non-inverted option. Some aerial or pole experience highly encouraged.
We will use both powder coated and silicone poles. Leggings recommended for use on the silicone pole. Skin contact on armpits, inner thighs, and knees will be needed to use the powder coated pole. Students using the powder coated pole should refrain from using oil based lotion prior to class.
