Performance Lab $90 Purchase required to enroll

Interested in getting started in performing, or expanding your stage skills? Performance Lab is back for 2025 with a new format!

This is a workshop style class meeting twice a month for anyone interested in creating and performing their own acts. Performance lab will be geared towards newer performers, but all skill and experience levels are welcome, from students looking to do their first open stage to accomplished artists looking to improve their stage shows.

Performance and act creation are skills like any other: they require practice and experience through exposure to gain mastery. In this class we’ll take a variety of approaches to performance and act creation and work on writing different styles of acts to expand our performance vocabulary.

Keeping that in mind, attendees will perform an act at every other class, followed by a critique.

Lab classes will include discussion and exercises for different aspects of performing, act creation, and choreography.

Attendees will prepare a new act to perform once per month. Acts do not need to be polished! Any “type” of act is fine, non-circus acts included. Acts should be entirely new, created specifically for this class. Acts should be 3-5 minutes long.

Schedule:

Performance Lab will meet from 2:30 - 4:30 on the following Sundays:

June 1st - Prep/Lab Class

June 29th - Performance Day
